We all dream of having healthy, soft and shiny hair. However, we often make daily gestures that turn out to be harmful for them. Most of these gestures are simple habits that we do automatically, without paying attention to them, but which affect the health of our hair fibers.
Here are 6 good resolutions to make (or lose) in 2022.
1 . Don't sleep/go out with wet hair anymore
When wet, the hair is waterlogged, the hair fiber is then very vulnerable. Indeed, the latter is made up of scales that protect it, as tiles would do for a roof. When the hair is wet, it is subjected to pressure, which can damage its scales and alter their protective role.
It is therefore necessary to equip yourself with a quality hair dryer and to use intermediate heat for your drying. Finish with cold air for more shine and to eliminate frizz as much as possible.
2. Use thermal protector
Many of you do your hair with a straightener or a curler (a heating device, in short). In direct contact with the too high temperature of the heating plates, your hair is damaged and can even burn if you insist too long on the same area. They then become rough, lose their elasticity and shine.
To avoid this problem, a thermo-protective treatment will be your best ally! Like a shield, it creates a protective barrier on the surface of the hair. But it also has other advantages: it helps to limit the breakage of the hair fiber, facilitates styling and preserves the hydration of your hair. An essential!
3. Use a treatment after each shampoo
The conditioner (also called conditioner) is for many of us a must to take care of our hair.
A conditioner should detangle and nourish the hair, giving it shine. The best of them are also intended to act in depth and restructure the hair to make it more resistant. It is an “express” product, the exposure time generally does not exceed a few minutes, unlike masks or treatments to be left on for several hours. Your hair will thank you!
4. Take care of your scalp
The scalp is too often forgotten when it is the base that will nourish your hair over time and therefore keep it healthy. A healthy scalp is an oxygenated scalp (= circulating the blood). To do this, there are different solutions: the application of exfoliation at the root, or an accessory called "Scalp Brush" to stimulate microcirculation and help regulate the scalp if it tends to grease quickly. The Scalp Brush also allows better skin renewal which promotes the nutrition of the lengths.
5. Space out your shampoos as much as possible
Try to space out your shampoos so that your hair regreases less quickly. So they will stay light and fresh longer. The ideal is to do 1 to 2 shampoos per week. It's not always easy but you can use a dry shampoo on the roots or use other subterfuges such as tying them in a bun, in a braid or even wearing a scarf or headband. On the other hand, try to limit the wearing of the hat because it will suffocate your hair, increase static electricity and make it greasy more quickly.
6. Use phone cord rubber bands
It is the essential accessory to protect all types of hair for each of your hairstyles: the spiral srunchie! Thanks to the cord, it protects your hair fiber from breakage. This small accessory is a great help against breakage. To use without moderation !
They may expand over time, but don't hesitate to immerse them in boiling water for a few minutes to restore them to their original shape!
Now it's up to you to take the right steps to start 2022 right 😀
